When there is no room in images for the planet, our relationship with nature, or the limits of growth, these issues slip out of view. When responsibility is absent from narratives, it is hard to expect it beyond the screen.
beHonest was founded out of a need to work with organisations that want to think more broadly – about content, impact, and the credibility of what they put out into the world. If a film speaks about care, it should not be made at the expense of people, animals, or the environment. If it calls for change, it cannot undermine that call through its own production process.
We make films without a gap between what we say and how we act.

beHonest is a Warsaw-based production company founded by Bartosz Bretes out of a need to create films in a good climate. We focus on authentic cinema and tell honest, responsible stories about the challenges of the contemporary world.

Documentary film in development
A story about raccoons that have escaped human control, exposing our own obsessions and contradictions in our relationship with nature.
The project is in early development and is applying for its first institutional funding.

Documentary film in post-production
A journey that turned into work - a tale of exhaustion from an extraordinary life.
The project was initiated during the DOK PRO course at Wajda School, further developed in workshops with Niels Pagh Andersen at MDAG Industry, and pitched as part of the Wajda School New Talents presentation at the Warsaw Film Festival. The film is currently at the rough cut stage.
